11th Candid Photo

[Hachibe's pretty depressed about his rather dismal performance in Olivier Armstrong's fighting tournament.  He's never going to impress her if he keeps on going like that.  Deep down, he knows he's capable of some pretty amazing things when he's fighting for his precious parts, but what about the rest of the time?  Maybe some training would help him all around.  So, citizens of Mayfield, you can find Hachibe after school on Tuesday in several different places:

1) At the gym in the rec center.  He's trying to lift way too many weights at once, huffing and straining and periodically dropping the bar on himself.  He hasn't actually managed any reps so far.

2) Running around town rather sluggishly.  Somehow, he's managed to find training weights, and has them strapped to his ankles as he makes his way slowly through town.

3) Swimming in the pool.  He's not doing too badly here, but he's pushing himself a little harder than he probably ought to be.  Feel free to find him floating face-down in the middle of a lap, or flopped over on his back beside the pool breathing heavily.]

I've always been naturally powerful, so I wouldn't know what you humans do.

But perhaps using less weights would be a good idea. Overstraining your muscles won't help matters much.

See! That's the problem! This town's full of vampires and stuff! How's a normal human like me supposed to protect anyone unless I get really strong really fast?

No matter how much you train, physical strength alone won't account for the difference in ability between you and the supernatural.

If you truly want to protect others, you'll need to find another way.

[Slouches in place, looking depressed and defeated.]

"Well, if you've got any ideas, I'm willing to hear them."

Humans can obtain powers in strange ways. The easiest of course would be to become a monster yourself in order to fight other monsters.

That doesn't sound like something I'd want to do either...

I suppose the easiest method is usually the most unfulfilling.

But there are many powerful individuals here. Learning from them would be more useful than this... strange slow running.

I don't get it. This kinda stuff always works on TV.

Really? Perhaps I'm mistaken then.

[identity profile] pygmalion-perv.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, like... you put on all these weights and train until you can run really fast, and then when you take the weights off, you can run even faster! That's how it's supposed to work, anyway.

[identity profile] yourhairismine.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Then we should see if it's working. You should become faster if you remove the weights, yes?

I haven't really been training for long enough to see much of a difference in my normal speed, though.
