29th Candid Photo

[It's been over a week since the fake memories from Valentine's Day vanished, and Hachibe's been uncharacteristically thoughtful during the intervening time.  Much less effusive in general, but he's also been avoiding any of his usual visits to his various girls with perfect parts.  He spaces out in class, spends a lot of his time around town just wandering around, and hasn't been all that talkative at home either.  Here are a few of the places your character may have seen him during the past ten days.]

Option A: Front Porch

[Hachibe is sitting on the front porch of his house at 1250 Williams Street, bundled up for the cold weather and absentmindedly petting a small husky puppy.  The puppy is variously lying quietly at his side, running around the front yard, and tugging at his arm trying to get him to get up and have fun puppy playtimes.]

Option B: Walking Around Town

[In the course of his random wanderings, there are a few places Hachibe keeps coming back to.  He spends a lot of time walking around the footpaths in the park, but he also comes around to stare at the outside of the rec center and the movie theater every so often.  Some of these times he has his digital camera with him, and takes pictures of the surrounding area.]

Option C: At School

[Hachibe isn't even making his usual token efforts at looking like he's paying attention during class.  He spends most of his time zoned out and staring off into space, and the rest of the time either asleep at his desk or doodling in his notebook.]

Option D: 1664 Nelson Street

[Toward the end of the week, he starts walking past the house at 1664 Nelson every day.  The first few times he just glances up at it and walks on past, but on future trips he actually stops and stares at the front door and then up to one of the windows before moving on.  Finally, on the evening of Saturday the 26th, he gets up the courage to knock on the door.]

[Yuki, as always, seems supremely unaware of much of anything as she drifts by reading a book. She will look up as she passes, though, to nod.]

[Hachibe offers a small wave after a moment.]

[And Yuki will pause. Facial analysis reveals that Hachibe is not in his usual frame of mind.]

What's wrong?

[Yeah, just trying to play this off.]

[identity profile] bogusmagicker.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
. . . That is a question more suitable for you.

[identity profile] pygmalion-perv.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Wow... saw right through me, huh?

[identity profile] bogusmagicker.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
?

That is not occurring at present . . .

[identity profile] pygmalion-perv.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
I'm just trying to sort some things out, I guess.

[identity profile] bogusmagicker.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
[With unusual human insight, Yuki casts her gaze skyward for a moment before responding.]

Concerning the events of the previous week?

[identity profile] pygmalion-perv.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
[He's too surprised to lie to her.]

Yeah, you guessed it.

[identity profile] bogusmagicker.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yuki nods a little and continues to stare at nothing in particular.]

It was . . . interesting.

[identity profile] pygmalion-perv.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you get fake memories too?

[identity profile] bogusmagicker.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[A nod to the affirmative.]

[identity profile] bogusmagicker.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Another nod.]

. . .

It is of disappointment that falsification of data was not detected.

[identity profile] pygmalion-perv.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
So they even managed to fool you, huh...

[Thoughtful again for a moment.]

How did it feel?

[identity profile] bogusmagicker.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
. . .

The memory of 'emotion' and the experience of 'emotion' are separate.

[identity profile] pygmalion-perv.livejournal.com 2011-02-27 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
But you can still remember what you felt about what happened here, right?

[identity profile] bogusmagicker.livejournal.com 2011-02-28 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
That is why it was interesting.

[identity profile] pygmalion-perv.livejournal.com 2011-02-28 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Was it like before, when you went home?

[identity profile] bogusmagicker.livejournal.com 2011-02-28 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Experiencing errors is undesirable. Recalling it was less so.

[ . . . ]

You were similarly affected?

[identity profile] pygmalion-perv.livejournal.com 2011-02-28 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. It was... really weird.

[identity profile] pygmalion-perv.livejournal.com 2011-02-28 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
I felt emotions I've never felt before. In ways I've never felt them before. And now that the memories are gone, I don't really know how I should be feeling anymore.

[identity profile] bogusmagicker.livejournal.com 2011-02-28 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Was the experience unwanted?
