[Hachibe blinks, raising an eyebrow and looking around.  He sure didn't remember coming to a drive-in movie.  Heck, he's not even old enough to drive!  And who's this girl sitting next to him in the passenger seat?  A quick glance up and down registers nothing on his parts scan, so if it's a date, it probably wasn't his idea.  But he figures he might as well make the best of a strange situation.]

"Uh... hi!"

[When he talks her eyes slowly open and she looks over to Hachibe. Her head turns from side to side as she tries to register where she is. It looks like...a car?

She tries to say something, but nothing comes out. Oh right, still no voice.]

[Hachibe tilts his head a little. It hasn't quite registered for him yet that she can't speak - he just thinks she's shy at this point. So he plasters a smile on his face and tries again.]

"Uh... my name's Hachibe. I don't think we've met?"

[She looks around the car, trying to see if something she can write with is inside. Her eyes are quickly drawn to a notebook in the back of the car, titled "Math Notes". ...She rather not ruin her notes, but there isn't a choice. Tsubasa moves her arm around the seat and takes the notebook from the backseat, pulling the pen she keeps in her pocket protector. Give her a few seconds...]

"I'm Tsubasa Hanekawa. My voice is gone, so I'll have to write. Can you see it well?"

[Hachibe squints for a few moments, as the flickering lights in front of them make it a little hard to concentrate on the page. But he nods all the same, flashing a thumbs-up.]

"Nice to meet you, Tsubasa. So, uh... any idea why we're at a drive-in movie?"

[She shakes her head.]

"The last thing I remember was going to bed after visiting the post office."

[Hachibe's face flashes with anger for a moment, but then he just frowns.]

"Post office, huh? Is that how you lost your voice?"

[She nods. The look on her face is more than enough. She feels so bad for making those people worry.]

[Pats her on the shoulder, half-smiling.]

"Hey, it's okay... you know you can trade back, though, right?"

[She blinks a little.]

"I can? Is that true?"

Yeah! They took my left eye for my digital camera, and I heard some people were giving their stuff back to get healed up and stuff, so I tried it too. It definitely works, so if your voice is more important to you than whatever you got back, you should go to the post office as soon as you can.

"It was just my pajamas and glasses."

[She smiles lightly, very happy to know that she could have her voice back. Her things are nice, but aren't worth her voice.]

Well, yeah, you should definitely get your voice back, then! I bet your friends are waiting to hear it again.

"As soon as we get out of here I'll go right to the office."

[She looks around again and tries to open the car door.]

"It's locked. Do you know what's going on? You didn't put us in here, right?"

"...Locked? Really?"

[Jiggles the handle around a few times.]

"Huh. How about that. It wasn't me, though. I had other plans tonight!"

"I'll take your word for it. I hope you aren't lying to me."

[She huffs a bit. This is really frustrating her. She hopes wherever Hitagi might be she isn't attacking anyone over this.]

"What were you doing before this?"

I was going to visit some friends and then go swimming, I swear!

[She thinks for a minute.]

"I think this is the town's fault. I wouldn't be surprised if other people were trapped as well."

Yeah, you're probably right. At least this time nobody's losing body parts, though.

"Lets hope it stays that way."

[she rubs her head a little and gives a weary smile.]

"How long do you think we've been here?"

"...What? Here in this car? I dunno."

[Glances up at the movie.]

"Half an hour, maybe?"

[A nod. She wonders just how long it's been since she felt awake.]

"Do you know what day it is maybe?"

It's definitely Friday, I can tell you that much. Why? Did you get droned or something?

[She nods.]

"The last thing I remember was sleeping after going to the post office. That was [she pauses, trying to remember] mid-August I think."

Oh, wow! Yeah, you've been out for at least two or three weeks, then. It's the beginning of September. I'm pretty sure school is starting soon, actually.

"Oh, it is." [She looks down at the notebook. Is it her's?] "I didn't miss any days yet, did I?"
